In Memory of Brecken Kariniemi and Denny Darnold
Note: We are planning to alternate between golf tournament and a walk. This year its golf :)

Check In Time 12:00 - 1:00 (2:00 Shotgun)
River Oaks Golf Course - Cottage Grove, MN
Includes: Four Person Scramble Format, 18 Holes, Cart w GPS,
Trackman Range Balls, Grilled Lunch, Raffles and Prizes
Note: Lunch is not a formal event so people may use their ticket when convenient :)
This year we will do food, speeches, raffle items review, etc. BEFORE the shotgun start in an effort to end at a reasonable time. Raffle drawings and prizes will done around 7:00PM soon after golf is complete. Although not part of official activities, you are welcome to stick around and take advantage of the excellent food menu, bar, and large indoor/outdoor seating!

100% of the profits will go to organizations that either benefit
children like Brecken and their families or charities related to
heart conditions in honor of Denny. This year will be:
Brecken Kariniemi
A Birdie for Brecken was started in 2018 for our amazing little boy, Brecken. He was diagnosed with Alpers Syndrome, a mitochondrial disease that primarily affects the brain (seizures), eyesight, muscles (low tone), and eventually liver failure. Brecken had a smile that lit up the world. He had superhero strength and determination that amazed us all. Brecken became our sweet angel at the age of 16 months on July 18, 2018. His daddy and mommy, Daryl and Sarah, started this tournament to honor this little boy, and raise awareness about Alpers and programs alike that benefit children with life threatening illnesses and their families. We miss you Brecken!
Denny Darnold
Denny Darnold is Brecken's grandpa. He was the community developer for Hudson, WI for 31 years. But after he met his first grandchild and became a Papa, he knew where his heart belonged. He retired from the city and enjoyed every minute with his two grandchildren, Easton and Brecken. His other love was golf. He often enjoyed just going in the backyard and swinging his clubs with his grandsons. Exactly 4 months after Brecken passed away, Denny passed away unexpectedly. We often think his heart needed to be with Brecken, and we find peace knowing they are now together. With his love for golf he played a pivotal role in helping the first annual golf tournament get started. We will always honor Denny and the amazing PaPa, dad, and husband he truly was.
